When using the system OPTIMUM the hydrometer sinks slowly – without turning itself – into the liquid (must, alcohol, mineral oil etc.). Ithere is no longer any risk that it might possibly collide with the bottom of the measuring vessel.

Hydrometer and cylinder will not be damaged in the test. At the same time the hydrometer reaches the optimum position for ist readings – no need to additionally touch the hydrometer (which the risk that the hydrometer could be immer-sed too deep into the test liquid and that, as a result, might indicate erroneous readings); self-centering of hydrometers; quick amortisation of costs (two defective hydrometers of the standard type cost approximately the same as one of our impact-protection glass inserts). The high mangnifying glass – fitted on the stand – permits perfect readings.
